Many people feel like no matter what they do, they just can’t take a good picture. Whether you are creating content for your business, for brands, or to share personal exciting news – this challenge can be a real problem! Though it’s common to feel self-conscious in front of the camera, we have to get rid of those fluttering butterflies in order to create content in peace. Something that has helped me so much is confidently knowing poses that work for me. When businesses hire me to help create consistent content, I always remind myself, “No matter my emotions during a shoot, taking pictures with friends, or those family holiday pictures – having an arsenal the easiest poses for photos locked in like muscle memory makes all the difference!”
Like developing any tool or skill, it will take practice. Your skills will only be as good as the effort you put into learning them. You must practice these easiest poses for photos over and over to feel less of those butterflies and more like the baddie I know you are. It is not about getting the pose “right” but having them memorized, and ready to go at any given moment. This is what allows for the feeling of confidence and security. I recommend carving out time in front of the mirror every day to practice. It always helps to hydrate, say some kind things to yourself, put on some sweet tunes, and practice, practice, practice.
