Being a fit model certainly has its benefits, and it’s great that you have been able to make a living doing something you enjoy. One of the biggest perks is the financial stability that comes with it. The fashion industry is always in need of fit models, and the steady work can provide a reliable income.
Additionally, fit modeling can be a great way to represent women of all shapes and sizes. By showcasing clothes on a variety of body types, you are helping to promote inclusivity in the fashion industry. This is incredibly important, as for too long the industry has been focused on a narrow definition of beauty.
As a fit model, my body is my livelihood. It brings in a steady income and provides me with opportunities to represent major brands and inspire women of all shapes and sizes. I have been modeling now for many years. However, this job comes with a cost. I am required to maintain a specific weight and measurements, which can be a challenge for anyone.
For me, it meant sometimes sacrificing my own personal health and well-being. I was so focused on keeping my body within the required measurements that I neglected proper nutrition and exercise. I would often skip meals or eat unhealthy foods just to maintain the weight and measurements required for my job.
While the money was great, my body was suffering. I am realizing that I needed to make a change. I started prioritizing my health and well-being, which means making better choices when it comes to food and exercise. As a vegetarian I stay away from animal products and try to stay away from sweets. I also started exploring other modeling opportunities that allowed me to embrace my natural body type and not feel restricted by specific measurements.
Modeling has been both a blessing and a curse for me. While it has provided me with financial stability and opportunities to represent women of all sizes, it has also taken a toll on my physical and mental health. As I continue to navigate this industry, I am learning to prioritize my own health and well-being above all else. I recommend the same for you.
If you are interested in learning more about how to prioritize your health while still maintaining your fit model status, there are many resources available. Consider working with a nutritionist or personal trainer who can help you create a healthy eating and exercise plan that works for you and your body type. Remember, your health should always come first, no matter what industry you are in.
