Welp… it’s that time of year again when everyone is saying, “New Year, New Goals!” Most people are getting those “New Year Resolutions” ready… talking about getting healthier, smarter, or reaching personal benchmarks. I, on the other hand, want to talk about how to achieve some creative Content Goal Setting instead! I’m talking about CONTENT Babes!
Let’s get smart with our time and skills, by getting clear on our content goal setting this New Year and making a point to do more than just writing them down and following through for the next three months. Instead let us strategize and organize ourselves for the upcoming year with monthly check ins, weekly content scheduling, and more, setting ourselves up for continued success!
Journal Those Content Goals!
My first suggestion in content goals is to take the time to sit down and reflect on your current content creating process. Ask yourself the following questions as you journal:
- Why is content important? (is it for your business, sharing a passion, etc.)
- Why is it important to you to produce more high quality content? (boosting sales, increasing brand awareness, educating your audience, conversions, etc.)
- What are you doing well? (review those analytics!)
- What may I need assistance with? (should I outsource for graphic design, writing, photography etc.)
Now that you have taken the time to identify what works for you and any needs you may have, it’s time to get to planning! If you’re doing great on your own, congrats Babe! Keep killing the online Social Media Content Marketing game. For the rest of us it might not be so simple and that’s totally ok! I personally enjoy filming and scheduling photoshoots. I can turn on a camera and talk no problem but editing please. Help! So much content is just sitting on my phone!
What is your creative motivation?
My motivation when it comes to my creative process is to have a creative outlet for myself. I have a desire to educate and empower people. My place is be in front of the camera creating content, in that capacity rather than editing. What were my needs and can I outsource assistance? After answering that question, I found individuals that understood my needs, branding, and goals.
The creative team I developed assists with editing and publishing which saves me time and gives me the freedom to enjoy creating in the ways I truly want to. That team now assists me with clients who want more consistent and relevant content for themselves. From Photographers, graphic designers, and writers, I got it all under one roof! My team takes the pressure off of the aspects of Content Creating that I personally find tedious and that honestly have kept me from providing the consistency and messaging that I want to share!
